The donors expect to receive a payment of $3.75 million as an award for unliquidated damages by a court of law. The defendant in the case-police department and the local sheriff- have been instructed to pay the amount as remedies to the aggrieved party, for arresting them and withholding them illegally.
The ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project
The organization bears the mandate to uphold and protect civil and human rights of many immigrants. In the attempt to realize its goals, the project conducts educational seminars, litigations in court and outreaches.
The group efficiently coordinates all its activities in the effort to realize its goals. They plan and understand the approach to use to tackle a specific situation at hand. The available options include passing amendment bills in parliament for the offensive laws or challenging them in a court of law.
