Through Food Drives, Blood Drives & Sporting Events, IC System Drums Up Support for Charity

Founded in 1938 by Jack and Ruth Erickson, IC System, through three generations of ownership, has established itself as a premier accounts receivable recovery firm, ranking among the best in the nation in ethical conduct and effectiveness, and licensed and/or bonded to collect debt in all 50 states, as well as Guam and Puerto Rico.

Based out of St. Paul, Minnesota, IC System offers a range of collection services to clients of all sizes, ensuring that any office can effectively collect on past-due accounts, without fracturing customer relations. The company has worked with clients in different industries, from healthcare and pest control to communications and education.

In addition to its work as a recovery firm, IC System has also devoted much time and resources to charitable efforts, and has for over 35 years operated an in-house philanthropic outfit called the Employee Charitable Help Organization (ECHO). This outfit is responsible to holding charitable events, fundraising, organizing volunteers and carrying out philanthropic initiatives, missions it has been successfully carrying out since 1981. ECHO’s 2016 “In the Community” review document, which can be read in full here, highlighted the raising of $32,000 and the volunteering of 534 hours by IC System employees over the course of the year.

Employees are able to volunteer in service of various causes; a large share of volunteer work revolves around food drive and food banking, often in partnership with localized charities such as Minnesota’s White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf and Wisconsin’s The Hunger Task Force of La Crosse.

In addition to time, employees also actively donate items to various charitable initiatives, such as blankets to the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota for the Blankets & Quilts for Kindness initiative, new or gently worn shoes to Shoe Away Hunger and blood during regular blood drives operated by the American Red Cross.

Athletic events are another large share of the organization’s yearly lineup, with the Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics, the Ronald McDonald House Hot Chocolate 15K/5K run and the Charity Gold Tournament being among the numerous sportive events organized annually by ECHO.
